A Firefighter from the Office of Fire Safety and Injury Prevention Education Office will be scheduled to visit your first grade class and discuss the roles of firefighters as community helpers. As first graders learn about their community and the people that make it a safe place to live, this presentation will focus on their ability to be community helpers by sharing important fire safety information with their family, friends and neighbors.

This thirty minute presentation includes a short video that takes the students through a tour of a fire station. Students will be encouraged to participate in the presentation and have an opportunity to ask questions.

A classroom or other room with a TV and VCR or DVD player will be required for the presentation. Two classes can be brought together for a presentation.
