Mission 

The mission of the Public Education Office is to:

  • Prevent injury and loss of life through changing behavior
  • Identify segments of the community whose lives are “at risk”
  • Develop, present, and review life safety and injury prevention education programs
  • Meet this commitment by using the "power of truth and accuracy”

History

The Public Education Office serves as part of the Public Information Division of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. The Office was established March 19, 1997 and is presently staffed by one person. Office operations provide a central point of contact for coordinating life safety education between the fire
