Property Tax Credit Program

The State and County Homeowner’s Property Tax Credit Programs provide property tax credits for homeowners of all ages who qualify on the basis of a comparison of their tax bill to their income.  Anyone whose combined gross household family income is below $60,000 should consider filing an application. Beginning in FY 2008, Anne Arundel County authorized an enhancement to its local supplemental Homeowner’s Tax Credit program. For taxpayers who as of the end of the calendar year preceding the beginning of the taxable for which the credits are sought are both at least 70 years old and have resided in a dwelling for more than 10 years, their County credit automatically increase   by an additional 30% (not to exceed the amount of real property tax imposed on this dwelling). If your property taxes exceed the amounts shown in the following table, you may qualify for a County tax credit. This tax credit is in addition to the State Homeowner’s Tax Credit.
