Election Judges

Sign up to be an Election Judge! 

One of the responsibilities of the Anne Arundel County Board of Elections is the appointment of Election Judges to staff the Early Voting sites and polling places for the 2012 Presidential and General Elections. 

Election Judges are being sought to work six (6) Early Voting days and/or the Primary and General Election Days Election Judges are needed for (5) Early Voting sites and one hundred and fifty-five (155) polling places throughout Anne Arundel County for the April 3, 2012 Presidential Primary Election and the November 6, 2012 Presidential General Election. Early Voting for the Primary Election will occur Saturday, March 24, 2012, through Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Early Voting for the General Election will occur Saturday, October 27, 2012, through Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday Early Voting hours for both the Primary and General Elections will occur from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

To become an Election Judge, complete the Election Judge Application Icon: Word and e-mail it to electionjudges@aacounty.org. If you do not have Microsoft Word or e-mail access, you can view and print the PDF Election Judge Information Form and fax it to (410) 222-6833.

All Election Judges are compensated for the services for their services for Early Voting, Election Day, and attending a training class. All Election Judges are required to attend a mandatory training class. Election Judges will be paid $25 for attending training ($25.00 training class is contingent on you working as an Election Judge). All Election Judges can expect payment four to six weeks after the Primary and General Elections.  

Each Judge, except the Provisional Ballot Judge, works as part of a team including one Democratic Judge and one Republican Judge. Under certain circumstances, a voter registered as "Unaffiliated" may work as a judge.
