Materials Quick Reference Guide

  

It is our goal to continue to expand the acceptable materials in our curbside recycling program. The County continues to work with processors to find outlets for these materials and expand recycling opportunities whenever possible.

We gladly accept the following items at the Convenience Centers and Landfill:

 

Appliances

Automobile batteries

Cans, bottles and jars

Construction debris

Concrete, brick, block, asphalt, and stone

Drum containers, fuel and oil tanks

Electronics

Empty one-pound propane cylinders

Furniture

Household trash

Paper/cardboard

Paint (latex)

Pallets

Scrap metal/white goods

Tires

Uncontaminated motor oil

Uncontaminated antifreeze

Yard waste

   
The following materials are not accepted in the County's recycling program because currently no market exists in this region.
   

Aluminum foil plates

Carbon paper

Drinking glasses

Glass mirrors

Milk or juice cartons (waxed paper kind)

Motor oil containers

Paper towel and tissues

Plastic or waxy coated paper

Plastic flower pots

Plastic grocery bags

Plastic salad containers

Plastic wrap

Styrofoam peanuts

Styrofoam blocks

Tinfoil

Waxed paper

Window glass

   
We can not accept the following items at Convenience Centers or the Landfill because these materials require special handling for safe disposal. See Disposal of Problem Products for specific disposal options.
