County Executive Laura Neuman Welcomes Meade Middle School Eighth Graders to Stream Restoration Project

The Department of Public Works (DPW), once again, partnered with Arlington Echo Outdoor Education to educate Anne Arundel County students about stormwater's impact on our watershed and the County projects designed to improve the water quality of our badly degraded waterways.  As part of their classroom curriculum, Meade Middle School eighth graders planted trees and other vegatation at the mouth of Cattail Creek to support a County stream restoration Capital Project.  Exciting improvement to the stream bed and the plantings provide a buffer to slow stormwater and naturally cleanse it prior to reaching the Creek, which is a tributary to the Magothy River and the Chesapeake Bay.
