Main and Collector Roads

Continuous plowing. Thru lanes plowed to bare pavement up to 24 hours after the end of the storm.

Residential Streets

Plowing equipment will enter the residential streets after the main and collector roads are completed. Streets will be passable* (but not cleared to bare pavement) up to 36 hours after the end of the storm.

Hazardous Roads!

Main and Collector Roads

Continuous plowing. Thru lanes are plowed to bare pavement up to 24-36 hours after the end of the storm.

Residential Streets

Plowing equipment will enter the residential streets after the main and collector roads are completed. Streets will be passable* (but not cleared to bare pavement) 2-3 days after the end of the storm.

14 inches and above
Treacherous Roads!

Main and Collector Roads

Continuous plowing. Thru lanes plowed to bare pavement up to 24-48 hours after the end of the storm. Expect narrowed and/or blocked lanes due to accumulations.

Residential Streets

Plowing equipment will enter the residential streets after the main and collector roads are completed. Streets will be make passable* (but not cleared to bare pavement) 3-4 days after the end of the storm.

Freezing Rain or Ice
Very Treacherous Roads!

Main and Collector Roads

Continuous Salting and/or sanding until road conditions improve. Bridges, ramps, underpasses freeze first. Possible traffic signal outages and tree limbs in roadway.

Residential Streets

Sanding and/or salting begins, as needed, up to 24 hours after the storm ends. Possible traffic signal outages and tree limbs in roadway.

*Passable means that the road may be snow packed, only one travel lane will be plowed,
and all-weather tires are a must.
