After the December 2005 sewer interceptor failure, concerned citizens and neighbors of the Mill Creek Pump Station expressed concerns to the Department of Public Works and the Health Department regarding the potential health risks associated with exposure to hydrogen sulfide odors in the atmosphere. The Department of Public Works contracted a certified industrial hygienist to perform air sampling, monitoring, and contaminant detection to measure the current conditions and assess any associated health impacts. Attached is the final report along with the sampling data and final conclusion that the measured concentrations do not pose a health risk to the residents in the community. |
