Public Works

The Department of Public Works is responsible for providing safe drinking water, treating wastewater, collecting and recycling trash, maintaining the County’s road and bridge network, designing and constructing public infrastructure, and delivering environmental restoration projects that support a high quality of life for residents and visitors.

To report a concern relating to County infrastructure/assets, please call 311 or report online via SeeClickFix. Once a concern is reported, SeeClickFix can also be used to check on the status of the inquiry.

Public Works Text Alerts

Residents can subscribe to the Department of Public Works text alert system. Anne Arundel County utilizes an emergency notification system, CivicReady©, capable of contacting citizens and businesses quickly in case of an emergency, such as road closures. A new Elevated Water Storage Tank has been recommended for the Heritage Harbour water pressure zone to address the vital need to ensure reliable water service, firefighting capacity, and water storage for the residents in this area. This capital project was approved as part of the Anne Arundel County Water and Sewer Master Plan.
