The census is a count that is conducted every 10 years of everyone living in the United States both citizens and non-citizens. This is the shortest census in history with only 10 questions and should take 10 minutes to complete. Federal law protects the information you share with the census and cannot share your information with any individual or any other government agencies and law enforcement. Census data is used to distribute Congressional seating to states, to make decisions about what community services to provide and to distribute $400 billion in federal funds to local, state and tribal governments each year.
