 Chris Trumbauer, born and raised in Chestertown on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, attended the University of Maryland – College Park where he received a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry in 1996.  After graduation Chris was employed as Scientist, at the Industrial Chemical Corporation in Baltimore until 1999 when he was hired by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). At DNR he was responsible for running a water quality monitoring program which assessed the Chesapeake Bay and its numerous rivers and streams. In 2008 Chris left DNR to take the position of West/Rhode Riverkeeper where he became the leading advocate for the health of Anne Arundel County Rivers until November 2013. Today, Chris is Director of State and Environmental Initiatives with Hatcher Group of Annapolis. 
Since moving to Anne Arundel County in 1997, Chris has been civically engaged in issues that matter to the citizens in Anne Arundel County by volunteering, and being involved with numerous civic organizations to include serving as a member of the Annapolis Environmental Commission, 2005 – 2007, Board of Directors, South River Federation, 2003-2009 (Vice President, 2005 – 2008), Chair, Mayor’s Environmental Transition Team, 2009, and Graduate of Leadership Anne Arundel’s Flagship Program, 2009.
In December 2010, Chris Trumbauer was elected to the Anne Arundel County Council.  Since his election Councilman Trumbauer currently serves as a Member of the Board of Health, Member of the Commission on Disabilities, Member of the Task Force on Sustainable Growth and Wastewater Disposal and Member of the State Critical Area Commission for the Chesapeake and Atlantic Costal Bays, appointed by Governor Martin O’Malley in 2012.
Councilman Trumbauer is a graduate of the Leadership Anne Arundel Flagship Program and lives just outside of the City of Annapolis with his wife Mary and their two children, Johnny and Josephine.
