    • 10th Annual Walk for the Woods Time: 7:00a - 3:00p Location: Farm Road, Crownsville, MD 21032 Details:

      Join us for the 10th Annual Walk for the Woods, A Scenic Rivers Land Trust Event in Partnership with Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks.

      Date: Saturday, April 18th 2015
      Time: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

      Dogs on leash welcome AFTER 10:00 a.m.

      Free event with donations appreciated!  Donations to SRLT preserve land in Anne Arundel County and are fully tax deductible.

      You are welcome to hike independently on flagged trails or join a guided walk.  Trails are on steep topography and can be muddy and slippery.  

      Directions:

      • Take Generals Highway to Crownsville Rd. From Crownsville Rd
      • Turn right on Marbury Rd (1/4 mile of Generals Hwy).
      • Marbury Rd becomes Farm Rd.
      • Follow signs through the water treatment plant to parking and trailhead.

    • Emily Schindler Memorial Triathlon Time: 7:00a - 11:30a Location: Anne Arundel County Trails Details:

      The Emily Schindler Memorial Scholarship Triathlon benefits the Emily Schindler Memorial Scholarship which was set up in her memory.

       Emily Schindler spent most of her life in the water.  Joining the SPY when she was 9 years old, she always put friendship above the competition of the sport.  Emily exemplified team spirit. Always encouraging others to remain positive, Emily brought a smile to everyone around her.

      Learn the ABC's of boat safety in this Boat Safety Education Class. See the attached flyer for more information. Class presented by Patapsco River Power Squardron. 

       
       
    • Annapolis Beer Week Time: 9:00a - Sat. 4/25 11:00p Location: Various Locations, See flyer for details Details:

      Join Annapolis Beer week from April 18 - 25, 2015. Numerous events throughout the week, starting with the 3rd Annual Beer run on April 18th and ending with Humor, Heroes, and Hops at the 4th Annual Drafts and Laughs on April 25th.  Events benefit local charities.  Tickets available at www.annapolisbeerwk.com.

       
       
    • Bicycle 2 Beer Time: 9:00a - 12:30p Location: Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds Details:

      First ever  Bicycle 2 Beer Ride to raise money for the Bike Like A Girl Race Across America Team and their nonprofit beneficiaries. Ride 14 or 30 mile routes with team members in the morning then if you like, also attend the Beer Festival with over 40 varieties, live music and fin activities for 21 and over.

    • Claws and Paws Spring Adopt-A-Thon Time: 10:00a - 2:00p Location: 411 Maxwell Frye Road Millersville, MD 21108 Details:

      Spring Adopt-A-Thon

      • Dogs, cats and other adoptable pets available from both AACAC and some of its rescute group partners
      • Family-friendly entertainment includes music, dog trainers, face painting
      • Raffles by Friends of AACAC to support the shelter

      Some consider Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest the funniest play written in English. The Colonial Players seeks to capture all its wit and piquant satire in this musical version, a story of the courtship of two affluent young ladies, Gwendolyn Fairfax and Cecily Cardew, by the young self-indulgent gentlemen, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff. Each man has been slightly dishonest in order to get what he wants, and the struggle against major challenges: the formidable Lady Bracknell, Gwendolyn's mother, and the truth itself. When all is revealed to everybody, even Jack, it leads to an unexpected happy ending and three weddings!
