Health Care Reform: Connecting to Health Coverage

Tue. Aug 13, 2013 7:00pm - 8:30pm
North County Public Library, 1010 Eastway, Glen Burnie (District 2)

Public Forums, Health Coverage Information and More...

Having health coverage provides protection and peace of mind if you or your family gets sick or has an accident.  Health coverage also provides preventive health care and screenings to help keep you and your family healthy.  Beginning in 2014, you may be eligible for Medicaid or a free or low-cost health plan based on your income.  Beginning October 2013, Maryland residents will be able to go to the Maryland Health Connection to determine their eligibility for Medicaid or private insurance.  See the Maryland Health Connection Frequently Asked Questions.

Come to the Free Public Forums in Your Community!

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health, in conjunction with the Anne Arundel County Executive’s Office, the County Department of Aging and Disabilities, and the County Department of Social Services, is presenting free public forums to update County residents and answer questions about health care reform. Representatives from HealthCare Access Maryland (HCAM) are scheduled to attend.  HCAM is the Central Region Connector responsible for helping uninsured residents in the County learn about, apply for and enroll in health insurance. The forums will provide information on insurance coverage, tax credits and subsidies; available health care services for adults and children; consumer assistance; and important dates.
