The United States Naval Academy Band will present a free concert by the Next Wave Jazz Ensemble at Constitution Park for the 2013 Ft. Meade Concert Series on Thursday, July 25 at 7:00 p.m.
The Next Wave, one of the Navy’s two premier big bands, is comprised of seventeen of our nation’s finest musicians. Under the leadership of Chief Musician Joe McCarthy on drums, The Next Wave has achieved national notoriety as a group sought out by jazz festivals and educational conferences throughout the country.
All concerts by the Naval Academy Band are free and open to the public with no tickets required. Constitution Park is located on the grounds of Ft. Meade on English Avenue.
Additional Information for the Ft. Meade Concert Series: Please bring a folding chair or blanket for seating. An inclement weather decision will be made at 3:00 p.m. on the day of each performance. All visitors should enter Fort Meade via the main gate at Route 175 and Reece Road. All privately-owned vehicles driven onto Fort Meade are required to be licensed, registered, inspected and insured according to state and local laws and are subject to a 100 percent identification check and inspection by Fort Meade Force Protection personnel.
