Animal Control Volunteer Program

Full Size Dog
Anne Arundel County Animal Control is once again accepting new applications for our volunteer program.
It is our hope that having volunteers will be beneficial to the animals, the staff, the citizens and the volunteers. There are a variety of tasks volunteers perform including, but not limited to, hands on interaction with the animals (including cleaning/feeding and socializing), showing animals to prospective adopters, assisting customers, answering phones, filing, photography and multi-media tasks.
To apply to be a volunteer: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, be able to meet the 16 hour per month requirement of volunteer service hours, have all current pets vaccinated against rabies (as required by state law), have licenses for current pets, pass a background check and be prepared to comply with all volunteer policies at Animal Control.  Animal Control asks that applicants be patient during the review process.
This program began in January 2012 and has been growing quickly. We appreciate the communities support in making the Volunteer Program at Anne Arundel County Animal Control a success.
Please contact or call us at (410) 222-8900 if you have questions about volunteering.
