Assisted Housing Program

For more information, call: (410) 222-4464
The Assisted Housing Program regulates Assisted Living Facilities which provide an intermediate level of care for those that need some assistance, but not full nursing care. There are over 90 licensed assisted living facilities in the County.
Selecting the right assisted living facility can be a bewildering process. The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities can provide information to guide you in making this important decision:
  • How to choose the right facility for your loved one
  • How to judge the quality of a facility based on monitoring visits, and survey trends
  • Information on differing costs and services
The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities also investigates complaints regarding Assisted Living Residents’ rights, quality of care and abuse or neglect, and regulatory compliance.
All facilities with 4 to 16 beds are monitored regularly by the Assisted Housing Program at the Department of Aging and surveyed annually for license renewal. Copies of monitoring and survey results may be reviewed in our office.
Eligibility: Anyone is welcome to call for information or to discuss concerns regarding Assisted Living Facilities or residents.
  • Ombudsman
  • Medicaid Waiver
  • Senior Assisted Living Subsidy
