Sponsored by Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities If you have been diagnosed with heart disease, arthritis, high blood pressure, COPD, diabetes or any other chronic condition, register now for one of the below workshops. All workshops run for 6 weeks and attending all 6 sessions is highly recommended (or strongly encouraged).
Workshops are free, but space is limited to 20 at each workshop. Adults with chronic conditions of any age are welcome to attend as well as caregivers of people with chronic conditions. All workshops teach techniques to handle such problems as frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation. Workshops also teach appropriate exercise methods, nutrition, proper use of medications and how to communicate more effectively with physicians.
To register for the Diabetes class, participant can have pre-diabetes, type 1 or 2.
The Pain Self Management class is designed for people who suffer from chronic pain. The goal of all of the workshops is to have more vitality, less pain, improved mental health and be more involved in daily activities.
