2014 Artists Without Limits Art Exhibit Will Feature Opening Night Reception on May 15 at the Arundel Center
05/12/2014

Annapolis, MD ( May 12, 2014) – The Opening Night Reception of the 2014 Artists Without Limits Art Exhibit will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. in the Arundel Center Lobby and the County Council Chambers.  The exhibit will run from May 15 to July 15, 2014 in the Arundel Center Lobby.  The show features artwork from Anne Arundel County residents of all ages with disabilities.  Twenty-six artists have pieces on display this year.  The reception will include the presentation of Executive Citations to all of the artists.

This is the third annual art show and the second for County Executive Laura Neuman.  “I am delighted to have the opportunity to highlight the work of such gifted individuals and to continue to bring fresh artwork to the public at the Arundel Center,” Neuman said.

The exhibit is presented by the Anne Arundel County Commission on Disability Issues and the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.  “The opening night reception is a really exciting night for the artists and their families,” explains Joelle Ridgeway, Chair of the Commission on Disability Issues.  “This art exhibit gives individuals with disabilities a way to showcase their work in a highly visible, respected way.  It helps to change perceptions about people who have disabilities.”  “This is the third year we have had the opportunity to partner with the Commission on Disability Issues on this exciting art exhibit,” said April Nyman, Executive Director of The Arts Council.  “As jurors for the exhibit, we were so impressed with the quality of the artwork submitted.  It is great that we can give this kind of exposure to artists with disabilities.”
