Organizations may register with the Commission on Disability Issues to rent display tables for the annual Disability Awareness Day. The event will take place on Saturday, October 26th at Westfield Annapolis Mall from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The cost is $45 for a 6 ft table and 2 chairs, or $55 if electricity is needed. The Commission is also accepting award nominations for businesses or organizations that provide employment or other opportunities to individuals with disabilities. Citations from County Executive Laura Neuman will be presented during the event. The deadline for both exhibitor registration and award nominations is August 20, 2013.

Disability Awareness Day combines interactive exhibits, information on disability issues within the community, and live entertainment. The public is invited to attend, and more than 35 exhibitors who provide services to individuals with disabilities will have free information. The Opportunity Builders, Inc. (OBI) Bell Choir and Hands of Harmony will provide entertainment, and Canine Companions for Independence will perform a demonstration.
